![]() ![]() Thanks for your response and I will update when I find out more. I have also read on here about auto parts store axles and issues with them.so that is a concern. I even called the place he said did all the service and they verified what and when the work he said he had done. I have talked with the previous owner several days a week since purchasing the car.and he's always been straight up. Produced in the United Kingdom, TTV Racing flywheels are CNC machined and forged with Chrome Moly steels, the ring gear is part of the flywheel to improve the strength and the reliability when used in very stressful conditions. ![]() I think I will pull the boots, clean and pack them full of grease. I'm curious if they were replaced or they are take offs from a good car. I opened the 'bag' up last night and they are used. It's funny because when I bought the car a month ago, the guy gave me two axles. Sent from my LG-H910 using Audizine mobile appThat's what I have thought. Based on the fact that it goes away when accelerating a bad CV axle is my guess without actually driving it. In order to exactly pinpoint what kind of vibration it it you'd have to find a technician with a scope vibration analysis setup. At that mileage if you've never replaced them I'd recommend replacing both. ![]() I would definitely suspect worn CV axles. When I was test driving B6/7's I did find that almost 100% of them had a vibration around 2K so I am thinking that it is "normal".I had a Ford expedition with that same concern and it was a front axle with excessive play. Anyhow there are times that at exactly 2K RPM (+/- 50 RPM) that I get a slight vibration but there are also times that I get no vibration.very weird. The PO had the clutch replaced at 53K (couple thousand miles before we purchased it) and I know the FW was replaced but I am not sure if they upgraded to the B7 DMFW or stuck with the B6 DMFW. It went up and down with the throttle both in gear at speed and in neutral.'04 S4 here and I experience the same thing. Tires need to be replaced but it was not an out of balance shake. Guys at the shop said that if it really was the flywheel then it would be a consistant shake and not intermittnet. Probably as cheap to buy this flywheel and the rs4 clutch/pp which holds stage3 power than it is to buy just a pp and flywheel that are made to fit your stock s4 flywheel. It happened once on the track too but went away after cool down. This flywheel is made so that you can bolt the b7 rs4 clutch right up which you can get for really cheap. But by the time I got it to the shop the problem had gone away. Is is possible to hav intermitent flywheel failure? I had what I would swear was a flywheel problem the other day. If you have any questions feel free to give us a call! Those are just a few of the reason why upgrading to our JHM Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo can benefit you. 3) Stage 3 and 4 Clutch Discs are very streetable and do not compromise daily driveability, and 4) If you are not tracking or beating on your car, this setup will outlast an OEM setup. 2) Does not feature a failure prone dual-mass setup. 1) Our Lightweight Flywheel costs less than OEM. We still recommend going with our Lightweight Flywheel and Clutch Combo for a few reasons. I know most people recommend the JHM Stage 3/4 kit with LWFW but I do not plan on tracking the car or anything like that nor do I want the chatter and wanted to gain peoples thoughts on a OEM b7 flywheel and a stage 3/4 clutch kit.Īlso, since I know many people have done the upgrade, would any B7 owners happen to have a OEM B7 Flywheel kicking around?therealet23. ![]() Qty: Availability: Special Order: Ships No ETA. For use with Audi B7 RS4 Clutch Kit - ES2550660. Sometimes the vibration lessens after a spirited run (but it always comes back). Weighing in at 14 lbs, allows for faster revving and easier rev matching when downshifting. No CELs, car runs and has power though it just vibrates (what could be perceived as a misfire) from the drivetrain and through out the RPMs whether in neutral or driving. My 2004 S4 (85k) has what I believe is the dreaded flywheel failure. I am new to the b6 s4 world (though I did have 2 b5's in the past). ![]()
